Islamic Concepts and Prophet’s Stories

 SESSION 2017 - FIRST DAY OF CLASS IS SUNDAY JAN 8, 2017. 

Course Overview:

This course is designed to be a building foundation for children learning about Islam. It will introduce them to our Islamic history and stories of the Prophet. This course will further build a child’s  basic concept of religious rituals and moral obligations of a Muslim. The course will specifically train children to understand, appreciate and apply the message and the morals behind the stories of Prophet’s lives. This course will serve as a building foundation for elementary/primary school children who are willing to learn about Islam. The lectures will focus on teaching children about worship rituals in Islam, the religious festivals and ceremonies, utterances in prayer and Prophet’s Duas their lives.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course the students will be able to: 
  • Memorize and recite some of the Duas taught by the Prophet.
  • Understand the requirements and rituals for each of the worship task e.g. prayer, fast and hajj.
  • Perform their religious rituals e.g. ablution and prayer. 
  • Memorize and recite the utterance in prayer.
  • Learn about religious festivals and the rituals performed in them e.g. Eid and animal sacrifice.
  • Learn the stories of the lives of the Prophets in Islam.

 

Delivery Methods:

This method of instruction will mainly be story telling. Classes will be taught using GoToMeeting.
